Laidig has supplied a Model 698, 44-foot diameter Track-Drive Reclaim System for a process that burns Palm Kernel Shells (PKS) for energy at a power plant located in Japan. This PKS application is one of the few large-scale PKS storage applications in the world.

PKS is an abundant waste material in some parts of Asia, and can be utilized to generate energy when burned. In this Laidig application, the palm kernel shells are stored in a silo that has a storage capacity of approximately 4,300 cubic meters. The material is then reliably conveyed by the Laidig Model 698 to the combustion system.
