Laidig offers fully automated bulk storage and reclaim systems that provide solutions to problems associated with pet food applications that include:
- First-In-First-Out (FIFO) Inventory Control
- Bridging and Rat-Holing
- Product infestation
- Product contamination
- “Near-Total” cleanout
- “Zero entry” for easy service access and operator safety
Laidig's large-capacity storage and reclaim systems are effectively used to store raw materials such as meat, bone, blood, poultry, and lamb meal. Large-capacity storage allows pet food manufacturers to ensure continuous production and provide volume purchasing options for these ingredients. Laidig equipment can also be used for the temporary storage and reclaim of “off-specification” product that can be re-ground and then re-introduced into the pet food production process.
Laidig offers a complete line of Reclaim Systems to solve the material handling issues—in either flat-bottom of cone-bottom silos—that are associated with the sticky, fibrous or hard-to-handle materials common in pet food applications.
Laidig’s Cantilever reclaim systems are designed with versatility in mind and are primarily used in these types of applications. The Laidig Cantilever series reclaimers offer variable-speed operation to tailor the output rate to match each specific application, and are customizable for low-profile and retrofit applications.
The Laidig Cantilever reclaim system has the option for one or two augers, is electrically or hydraulically powered, and has been designed with minimal moving mechanical parts, keeping maintenance low. For aggressive reclaiming in fibrous or sticky materials, the reclaim auger can be configured with replaceable cups or knives, or configured with a center dome to restrict material free-flow.
Laidig Cone-Bottom Reclaim Systems help to create mass flow—enabling near-total clean out—while maintaining a first-in-first-out (FIFO) inventory control. These reclaim systems can be customized to handle a wide variety of bulk materials, are available in diameters up to 60 feet, and can be installed into new silos or retrofitted into existing structures. The reclaimer drive systems are external to the stored material, making service easy and safe.
